EXHIBITIONS

  • Sant Pere de Rodes and the Master of Cabestany: The Creation of a Myth

    From 19 March to 28 June 2026

This exhibition is a tribute to the most brilliant and internationally renowned sculptor of Catalan Romanesque art, the Master of Cabestany—considered by some to be a true Picasso of the twelfth century—and to his masterpiece, the lost portal of Sant Pere de Rodes, in Port de la Selva (1160–1170).

  • “Recuperado del enemigo” (Recovered from the Enemy).
Deposits at the MNAC under Franco's dictatorship

    From February 20 to June 28 2026

With this exhibition, the Museum is revisiting its own history and the history of its collections, now focusing on the works left by the SDPAN (Servicio de Defensa del Patrimonio Artístico Nacional), the Office for the Defence of National Artistic Heritage under Franco’s regime.

  • 17th-Century Art —
    Power, Faith, and Drama

    From 16 April to 25 May 2026

This exhibition brings together works from across Europe to explore how artists responded to an era shaped by religious conflict and political ambition. Through the striking contrasts of Caravaggio, the realism of Diego Velázquez, and the dynamism of Peter Paul Rubens, the exhibition reveals how art was used to move, persuade, and inspire.
